Bethany and Nathan wedding photography at Millhouse Skidby captured by Ray and Julie Photography

By Ray Dixon

We had so much fun capturing Bethany and Nathan's lovely wedding day, on Sunday at Millhouse Skidby. After their complimentary

pre wedding shoot on the Beverley Westwood. We realised that they both loved fun and relaxed images, below is just a very small selection of

what we captured for our lovely couple.

Make up, done. Hair, done. A glass of fizz and lets get ready...

Time for Bethany to see her dad (Tony) for the first time now, with her beautiful dress on from To have & to hold bridal boutique. Julie and I have to admit it was a very emotional first look, not a dry eye in the house. As Tony said if a dad can't cry seeing his daughter in her wedding dress, when will he??

Nathan was totally relaxed (honest) waiting at Millhouse, looking very smart in his Next suit.

We are sure you'll agree the bridesmaids look lovely? We waited for the beautiful bride to arrive with her proud dad, in a Mercedes provided by Yorkshire Wedding Cars.

Time for the wedding service, we'll let the images captured speak for themselves...

Bring on the group photos... We try to make this as painless as possible and fun at the same time.

A bit of quality time with the new Mr & Mrs, prior to speeches and wedding breakfast. Amazing flowers from The Beverley Flower Company.

Time for speeches and wedding breakfast...

Time to relax and have some more fun.

The first dance.

Wow where has all the time gone? Lets party and dance...

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Scott.

It was our pleasure to capture your memories.

Lynda and Ronnie’s wedding photography at Lazaats Hotel captured by Ray and Julie Photography

By Ray Dixon

Well Friday wasn't only Good Friday... It was a fantastic Friday!!! We captured the memories for Lynda & Ronnie at the wonderful Lazaats

The weather was on our side and the sun was cracking the flags!!  We appreciated how important their wedding photography was for them

both wanting lots of natural photos (but some wow images).

Below is just a very small selection of what we captured for them on  Good Friday.

When we arrived for bridal prep Lynda and the bridal party were  well organised. Everyone made us feel very welcome and as soon as we walked through the door we were asked if we wanted a drink or a cold croissant πŸ˜‚. After an emotional reveal to Dad (David), we had to scoot to Lazaats to capture Ronnie and the rest of the groom party.

The lads looked very dapper!!

Ronnie had his sons as his best men (Ronnie Jnr and Jamie. We are sure you will all agree they looked the part in their Len Beck and Son Ltd suits?

The beautiful bride arrived with her very proud dad, sister and her daughter. The bridal party arrived curtesy of Tony and Dawn of Aston Wedding Cars To You, in the stunning vintage Viscount and Mercedes AMG.

It was then time to to see the registrars and get ready for a wedding...

I do... The wedding ceremony was held in the Pavilion Suit, with lots of family and friends to witness.

The look...

What's mine is yours....

Plus a great reading from Richard.

A hundred and twenty plus day guests down to the gardens for the group shots... Bring it on πŸ˜…

The photo for Slimming World girls xxx

Now all the guest have gone back to the reception room for refreshments πŸ˜‰

we can have a little quality time with the new Mr & Mrs White. xxx

Lynda looked stunning in her wedding dress from Bridal Boutique Hull, and beautiful flowers from Ivy Lane Florist

Time to go for the wedding breakfast, thank you so much Lynda and Ronnie for our meal it was gratefully appreciated. Speeches!!! A lot  of thought had gone into the speeches, they all had a little bit of everything πŸ˜ƒAs Lynda's  dad said the secret to a long marriage is TRUST and UNDERSTANDING (he should know he's been married to Diana for 50+ years)  We think the saying went " She doesn't  trust me, and I can't understand her πŸ˜‚"  Ronnie's speech was very poignant especially the part when he told the story of how Lynda saved his life!  Some great gags from Ronnie Jnr and Jamie. The venue was very tastefully decorated by Linda, Steve and all the team from A Perfect Wedding...

Rich Reynolds Magician had the guest in total disbelief with his magic. But he was on fire πŸ˜‰with his top table magic!!!

Can you guess who left his phone on during the speeches???

How cute?

During the service and the reception the brilliant Stephanie Halsey played her harp, truly enchanting.

Time for the night guest to arrive! Cut the fantastic looking cake by Cake Creations by Jill Fisher, and the first dace. Not before a quick few images down the lane before the sunset. Some great tunes from the live band on the night Ordinary Men

Congratulations Mr & Mrs White.

It was our pleasure to capture your memories.

Lazaats Hotel Yorkshire Wedding Photography – Sue & Steve

By Ray Dixon

Julie and I had such a special day capturing Sue and Steve's memories at the wonderful Lazaats Hotel.

From the first time we met Sue and Steve, we got on so well.  We appreciated how important their wedding photography was for them.

Below is just a very small selection of what we captured for them on Friday.

From the moment we arrived at Lazaat to see Sue for bridal prep, everyone made us feel welcome. Even the younger members of the bridal party that had to stop playing Fortnite πŸ˜‚ whilst we were photographing... Sue was totally in control making sure everyone else was OK. The above image is of Sue and Steve's rings from Gladstones Jewellers.

We are sure you will all agree, Sue looks absolutely stunning! The image of Sue was captured in the corridor just outside her room. We just had a few minutes alone with her, making sure she was fine. We then had the talk... If your a professional wedding photographer you'll know which talk we mean... Low and slow, no hiding behind your flowers and walk slowly and enjoy the moment as you walk down the aisle.

As a surprise Sue had organised for Tony of Aston Wedding Cars To You, to collect Steve in his Aston Martin DB7. Well in Tony for being able to organise this with only 2 days notice πŸ˜‡

The lads scrubbed up well also!!

It was then time to to see the registrars and get ready for a wedding...

I do... A very poignant and emotional ceremony, held in the Imani Suite witnessed by close family and friends. Just look at the smiles.

Rain didn't stop play, the weather had been very unpredictable all day. But as if the weather gods had shone down on us, the moment the ceremony was over the rain more or less stopped! Outside for some group and couples photos...

As quickly as we could we got the guests back inside, and to the bar... We then had some alone time with Sue and Steve, in the grounds.

We then had to get ready for the wedding breakfast, thank you so much Sue and Steve for putting Julie and I on one of your tables for the meal. It was lovely to chat with the other guest on our table, and the love for you both was clearly evident. It meant so much to us and the food was fantastic, we could have done with a snooze after lol... We have lots more images to show our lovely couple, but we believe in keeping a lot back to show them, when they come to view their images with us for the first time. After their wedding day at our Beverley Town Centre Studio.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Peck.

It was our pleasure to capture your memories.

Sam and Matt’s Wedding Day

By Ray Dixon

Well where do we start...

What an amazing day we had with Sam, Matt & Russell. It started with a beautiful wedding service held in Pocklington at Burnby Hall Registration Office.

Sam and Matt wanted to have some memories captured in Burnby Hall Gardens, which are gorgeous. Only one slight problem, due to the end of the service time we had just 30 minutes before the gates would be shut... Not a issue Sam and Matt were up for the challenge, as were we. For those of you who are old enough, it was like something out of challenge Anneka πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

This is just a small selection, well done team great work (if only we had done a behind the scenes video, challenge won lol).

On to the wedding reception at Shiptonthorpe Village Hall... Which vehicle to take????

At the village hall now, let the fun begin...

Russell following in dads footsteps???

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Walker, it was our pleasure to capture your memories. XX

Can we capture your memories?

Master Photographer Association Yorkshire Region Annual Print Awards 2018

By Ray Dixon

Recently Julie & I entered our Yorkshire Region Master Photographers Association (MPA) Annual Print Competition 2018.

This is our chance to enter some of the past years images into various categories e.g. Portraiture, Landscape/Travel, Weddings & Commercial. We don't enter into the competition lightly, firstly we are going up against other professional photographers, who've been established for a lot longer than us within the Yorkshire region MPA. Secondly you have to pay for every entry!!!

Round One: consisted of digital entries being entered for judging. The judging was carried out by non other than our MPA President Richard Bradbury, Fellow Master Photographer Association (FMPA). From this we had 12 entries that went through to the second round πŸ™‚

Second Round: We then have to submit the digital images as prints. After another round of judging, then came the awards night...

We had a super night, great to catch up with other regional photographers. Blown away!! That out of all our 12 entries each one received an award, more so two images won their category!!

Thank you to all the MPA regional staff, and Richard Bradbury for giving up his time to judge the competition.

Here are our images:

Under 5's Portrait & Landscape/Travel

Highly Commended

Under 5's Portrait, Landscape/Travel, Pets, Wedding Reportage

Under 5's Portrait

Classical Portrait, Under 5's Portrait, Architecture, Wildlife

A big thank you to all involved with the above images. Now looking forward to the Nationals (fingers crossed).

Thank you Ray & Julie (Award Winning Photographers) xx

Would you like us to capture your memories ?

Nicola & Paul's Wedding

Here are a selection of images we captured for Nicky & Paul's wedding held at Edinburgh Castle, followed by their reception at

The Kitchin (Tom Kitchin's restaurant in Leigth).

Let the day begin...

Bridal prep at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh -The Caledonian

Nicola was looking truly radiant, with Olivia attending to her every need. Make up was from Sarah Baldwin (Sarah E Baldwin - Professional Make-Up), and hair by Gail Rankin International / Bespoke Wedding Hair.

Nicola's beautiful wedding dress was from Andrea Bambridge, with bespoke gown from Eliza Jane Howell. We think you'll agree truly stunning...

Let's see how Paul and the lads are getting on...

The groom and groomsmen were not harmed during the taking of the photograph below πŸ˜‰

Time to get a quick drink before heading off to Edinburgh Castle. The Devil's Advocate here we come...

Paul and guests arrive at the castle.

Nicola and Olivia are about to leave the Waldorf, but not without a quick photo with the head concierge... Nicola and Olivia holding their stunning flowers from Petals by the shore - Leigth.

Paul is now waiting for Nicola in St Margarets Chapel...

Here comes the bride. Piped in by a lone piper..

A beautiful intermit ceremony in St Margaret's chapel, built around 1130 making the chapel Edinburgh's oldest building. Followed by champagne and canapΓ©s in the Queen Anne ante room.

After leaving Edinburgh Castle. Seeing the Scottish weather was being so kind, we had a quick stop by Princess Street Gardens...

Finally on to the reception held at The Kitchin in Leigth, Chef Tom Kitchin's Michelin Star Restaurant. Even better the main man was in...

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Jensen, we loved capturing your memories.

Special thanks go out to all friends and family for making us feel so welcome, Lawerence Scott for his help and being a great friend.

Finally Nicola and Paul for entrusting us to capture their vision of everything they planned for their wedding day.
