This awards page was by far the hardest page for us to do on our whole photography website. Not because we have not got any awards but because we find it difficult to praise ourselves! Even though we have won International, National and Regional awards. We are the current Master Photographers Association Yorkshire Region Photographers of the Year and the National Portrait Awards Photographers of the Year.  Julie and I do not specifically photograph with awards in mind, every photograph we have ever won anything for is either been photographed for a client or taken for pleasure. On one of our trophies it says the following ” In recognition of outstanding photographic skill and excellence in imaging ” For Julie and I that says it all. This is just a brief overview of some of our photography awards.

2021 Photography Awards

National Portrait Awards Photographer of the Year 2021 – 2020

This award is given to the photographer that has achieved the highest standard of photography throughout the year within the group, whilst raising money for charity.

2020 Photography award

National Portrait Awards Photographer of the Year 2020 – 2019

This award is given to the photographer that has achieved the highest standard of photography throughout the year within the group, and raised money for charity.

MPA Yorkshire Region Studio Photographer of the Year 2020

Judged by MPA President Su Kaye who said “The quality and variety of Ray and Julie’s work shows a wide amount of knowledge, skill, creativity and understanding within photography. The awards are certainly well deserved.”

MPA International Portrait Awards 2020

These awards are very difficult to receive as they are judged against Master Photographers Association (MPA) members throughout the world. To receive 4 international merits we are overwhelmed.

2019 Photography Awards

Master Photographer Association Yorkshire Region Photographer of the Year 2019

The competition was judged by Trevor and Faye Yerbury, with over 50 years experience in the photography industry. had this to say about our entries “Ray and Julie must be congratulated for producing many superb and very interesting images to win this year’s Master Photographers Yorkshire Regions Annual Awards. The images, spread over several genres of photography, having success with individual titles awards, many finalist awards, all of which led to receiving the Highest Accolade of the evening by achieving the overall title Photographer of the Year Yorkshire Region. Their success was given the audience’s approval with loud applause”.

2018 Photography Awards

Master Photographer Association Yorkshire Region Photographer of the Year 2018

The competition was judged by Richard Bradbury FMPA, FBIPP  the current MPA President and highly respected in the photography industry. had this to say about our entries “As MPA President it was my great privilege to act as head judge for the Master Photographers Association Northern Region Annual Awards. The standard was probably the highest I have ever seen in a regional competition and indeed, in my opinion was at a standard usually only judged at the national level. Two of the shining stars of the evening were Ray and Julie Dixon. They won 12 awards in total across several different categories with 4 highly commended awards and an outright winner in the Under 5s Portrait and Landscape categories. To win this number of awards in different categories shows a depth of ability and talent for photography which is rarely seen anywhere in the UK. Their work is exceptional! Well done to both Ray and Julie!”.

And Finally…

These are just the main examples of awards we have received over the years. Julie and always try our best in everything we do, so hopefully we will be adding to this collection?? We have left out over 20 Gold Awards 15 Silver and about 30 Bronze award photographs as didn’t want to bore you. As well as being qualified members of some of the best professional photography groups in the world, The Briitish Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) and The Master Photographers Association (MPA). Another great aspect of having these awards is attending awards presentations, where we get a chance to get dressed up and rub shoulders with some of the best photographers in the world.
