We don’t like our picture taken

Most people don’t! With every wedding collection we offer a complimentary FREE engagement shoot. This is so we get to know you better (and visa versa) also getting you used to having your picture taken, relaxing and most of all having fun. We’ve all seen the photos when you can tell the couple have just met the photographer for the first time on their wedding day…

Can you take some group photos?

Of course we can, we will discuss with you prior to your wedding day about the images you would like us to capture. However your hiring us as experienced professional photographers we won’t carry reams of shot lists around with us, because if we are looking at a list we might be missing that fleeting glance or soft caress.

Can we order an album at a later date?

Of course you can. We have a large selection of albums to suit most budgets.

Do we have to meet?

Yes. We need to know we are suited to each other. We appreciate that if your living abroad we can chat via the internet, but insist on meeting up prior to your big day.

Are you insured?

Yes indeed, We have Public Liability insurance covering us up to £5 million and Professional Indemnity insurance.

What happens if you are ill?

Touch wood we’ve never been ill for a wedding yet. However with our network of photography friends we guarantee you’ll never be left in the lurch.

Can we have just one photographer at a discounted price?

Sorry no. Julie and I come as a team, but we are not charging you any extra. So you’re already getting two photographers for the price of one bonus!

Do you need to see our venue?

Yes. We’ve captured memories from registry offices, Edinburgh Castle and even Mauritius. It might be our past service background but we will always visit your venue prior to your day (that is even if we have photographed there before). Just so we can meet the vicar, speak to the staff, locate those little areas to capture stunning images for you.

How do we book?

Do you travel?

We sure do! The further the better. If you are in the UK we do not charge mileage, however if you are more than two hours away, if we have to stay over all we ask is for a supplement towards our overnight accommodation. If you are getting married abroad, we have the perfect collection for you.

Will I own the photographs?

We give you all of your photos copyright free for personal use. This means you can print them, email them, share them on social media – pretty much do whatever you like with them, there are virtually no restrictions. We still maintain the overall copyright but all we ask is that you don’t sell your photographs (we’ve never had a couple who wanted to do this! But we have to mention it). If you wanted to get them published in a wedding magazine then we’d just like you to get in touch with us first so we can speak to the magazine about a photo credit. With out this the magazine could incur our commercial photography fees.

How long does it take to get our photographs?

Depending on the time of year, if you’re away on honeymoon etc a maximum of 6 weeks (May-September is our busiest time). We like to share a few images on Instagram and our Facebook Page within a week of your wedding (only if that is OK with you), so make sure you head on over and like those pages so you can see them. You may see some photographers who will say all images available after 2 days, this is normally because they’ve farmed them out to some company abroad to edit them. You can rest assure every image we take is checked and edited by us. So to maintain our high standards it takes time.

What will you wear to photograph our wedding?

We try and dress in a way that makes us look like we could possibly be staff or possibly be guests. Julie wears a smart dress and smart shoes, I wear smart trousers, a shirt, tie and waistcoat finally smart brogues. We need to balance being smart and comfortable with blending in, finding this combination works well. If you need us to be more formal, (or more casual!) please ask – at the end of the day we are representing you in front of your family and friends, as long as what we wear doesn’t restrict our movement (photographers get themselves into a lot of strange positions!) then we’re happy to accommodate.

How far in advance do we need to book?

We limit the amount of weddings we shoot a year, so that we can give every couple the individual attention that we feel each wedding deserves (you’re not just another number to us) so we would recommend booking as soon as you can to avoid missing out. We’ve actually got couples that have already booked us, that have not finalised their date. When they do they are going to make sure we are available.
